Scott Hepburn, a 21 year old resident at Avon Park in Strathaven, made his mum’s dream come true by attending her recent wedding in Glencoe.  Supported by two of the staff from Avon Park, who helped him to arrange his travel and attend the wedding, Scott looked on as his mother wed in a beautiful white dress, in front of a stunning highlands vista.

Scott looked dashing in a traditional Scottish kilt and his mum was thrilled that he was there to share her special day. The wedding was an intimate ceremony celebrated by friends and family. As hikers looked on, the happy couple tied the knot. This very special occasion benefitted not only from the idyllic setting of the heather on the highlands, but also from a rain-free day and the tunes of a Scottish piper.

Cathy Togneri, Deputy Manager of Avon Park, drove Scott to the event in a minibus, along with Support Worker Charlene McLuckie. The two women were on hand to support Scott throughout, and were delighted to witness the spectacular event.

Cathy Togneri, Deputy Manager of Avon Park, said:

“As soon as we found out that Scott’s mum was getting married, we knew we had to do all that we could to ensure Scott could share in the special occasions.

“Charlene and I were incredibly honoured to have been able to support Scott and to witness a truly beautiful ceremony. The whole day was really touching and Scott’s presence was the perfect gift.”
