Employment prospects in Buckinghamshire will be boosted following the opening of a new five star luxury care home, which is expected to create up to 50 jobs.
Buckingham House, in Gerrards Cross, is the latest care home launched by Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) and provides nursing, dementia and residential care to residents.
Facilities at the home include a cafe, dining rooms and spa, as well as landscaped gardens. A dozen residents have already signed up to live at the 53-bed home, which hosts its grand opening this weekend (19 and 20 September).
Jill Shearer is Senior Operations Manager at MMCG and has worked at the company for 12 years. She said: “MMCG prides itself on embracing the local community in all the areas in which we work. As Buckingham House evolves, we look forward to forging strong relationships with the local area, something which is strengthened by employing local people and providing long-term sustainable careers.
“Being new to Gerrards Cross, we are privileged to be central to such a beautiful location and have already been very warmly welcomed by those who live here.”
Phil Burgan, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Maria Mallaband Care Group said: “I am really excited to open Buckingham House, one of our latest generation five star hotels with care. Our excellent, well trained and experienced staff are on hand to welcome customers to a new life in a first class environment. Excellent cuisine, interesting activities and entertainment, and individualised care packages are part of everyday life at all Maria Mallaband care homes.
“I look forward to meeting everyone on our open day!”
MMCG has recently opened homes in Bath and Dorset and will introduce a further three in Canterbury, Bicester and Surrey in the coming months.
