The ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ has become a major talking point this summer, raising thousands of pounds for worthy charities by individuals taking an icy shower on tape.
The team at Healthcare Homes were nominated to take part by Philip George and his colleagues from Birkett Long and, not ones to shy away from such a challenge for a good cause, it was duly accepted.
Sally Chilvers and her team at Barking Hall Nursing Hall in Barking, near Needham Market, were happy to host the challenge in their grounds. Luckily, the sun was shining meaning the challenge could take place in the courtyard garden.
Watched by residents of the home, Graham Lomer (Chief Financial Officer), David Bates (Chief Operating Officer), Mathew King (Group Financial Accountant), Vanessa Dalton (Company Accountant) and Ed Pink (Financial Controller – Homecare) were all great sports and took part in the chilly challenge.
A donation has been made to the Rob George Foundation – http://therobgeorgefoundati.ipage.com/wordpress/ – which is a charity that provides practical and/or financial support to young people with life threatening or terminal illnesses.
Healthcare Homes has in turn nominated Graham Randall and the audit team from BDO UK, in addition to Peter Harrup and Colin Downing from its taxation team.
