Shackletons joins over 1400 organisations to transform the quality of life for people with dementia as it signs up to the Dementia Action Alliance.
Joining the Alliance, Shackletons have submitted an action plan setting out how they are delivering the outcomes of The Dementia Alliance declaration.
Their main commitment will be to direct funds to their research and development division allowing resources to focus on innovation within the design and manufacture of furniture specifically for people with dementia.
Already taking its commitment seriously the company has launched a new range of dementia focused bedroom furniture specifically designed to meet the growing needs and demands within the residential care sector.
Jason Bloom, national sales manager at Shackletons says: “We have signed up to the Dementia Action Alliance to support the national programme which is there to lobby for awareness and improved understanding of the needs of people with dementia. Our input is ensuring design enhances and maintains a fulfilling and independent lifestyle within a care environment.”
