Tallington Rest Home recently opened its doors for a Summer Fete. The 39 bedded care home, who specialise in dementia care, ran the event on the 22nd of August.
Country Court Care stated that the main objective of these events is to confront media induced prejudice towards residential care and build relationships between care homes and their local communities. They also allow the public to discover that care services are a key factor in preserving a strong community.
Staff at Tallington Rest Home anticipated that a lot of people would attend on the 22nd, and they were certainly not disappointed, as many people arrived to enjoy the day. These people included relatives, industry professionals and local residents of the area.
There were many stalls erected throughout the home, face painting, live entertainment and refreshments. The staff members at Tallington were ecstatic to hear that they had raised over £300 for the residents fund.
Further to this, everyone at the fete took part in a sponsored balloon race. So far, balloons have landed in Obernzell, Germany and Belgium!
