A private care provider in Middlesex has become the first in the country to create a role that focuses on companionship for its customers.
Susan Pearson, who was previously a care worker for the recognised home care company, is now in a new role that includes visiting customers to be a shoulder or ear for customers and to help alleviate loneliness. This service is provided free of charge.
Sai Visakan, Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Hounslow) explains the reasons for the new role:
“With many of our customers living alone, we felt that in order to combat loneliness and further illnesses relating to this, we want our customers to feel happy and looked after. By creating this role we are further serving our customers and ensuring their wellbeing that no other care provider in the country let alone the borough is currently providing. I truly believe that our customers should be treated like a family member and it is with this resolve that we have created this service.”
Bluebird Care is a local provider of care in the home. They specialise in working with customers who suffer from dementia, physical and learning disabilities, and work alongside their families, Social Services, GPs and Clinical Commissioning Groups to ensure each person receives the care they need.
