Preswylfa Care Home in Rhyl welcomed a new member to their team this week, as one of Embrace’s Directors, the company which runs Preswylfa, spent a day working alongside the care home’s dedicated team of staff.
Managing Director of Older People’s Services South and Wales, Conor Whitelaw, rolled up his sleeves and got to work as a kitchen assistant, helping the culinary staff to prepare meals, bake cakes, brew tea, and ensure a spotless kitchen was maintained throughout the day.
As MD of a company which prides itself on upholding excellent standards of care and one that is hugely proud of its committed and caring staff members, Conor was keen to experience first-hand the dedicated work that happens across Embrace homes every day.
The residents at Preswylfa also enjoyed having Conor help out, ensuring they put in lots of requests for tea and cake to keep him busy!
Conor Whitelaw, Managing Director of Older People’s Services, commented;
“It was great to help out the kitchen staff at Preswylfa. All the staff at the home are dedicated and hard-working, so it was a fantastic opportunity to join them for the day.
“It was also a wonderful chance to chat with the residents and spend some time getting to know them.”
Glynis McKean, Manager at Preswylfa, commented;
“Having Conor helping out for the day was great fun; he got stuck in and was a real asset in the kitchen. It was also a lovely opportunity for the residents and staff to get to know him.
“He’d be welcome to come back and help out anytime!”
