One of the largest housing associations in the Midlands has appointed a new head of new business to develop the care services that it provides to thousands of people across the region.
Steve McIlvenny has more than 10 years’ of experience in business development, recently working asInterim Director of Marketing and Business Development at housing and support provider Advance.
He will now lead on researching, identifying and developing new health, social care and support services, helping the Accord Group to provide a wider range of support to those most in need.
Steve, who also worked asAssistant Director for Business Development at Mencap, will work closely with the Group’s Executive Board, with a focus on establishing relationships with potential funders, commissioners and future partners.
The role is part of the Group’s approach to evolving the care services that it offers, including providing more ‘in the home’ services to support older people to live in their own homes for longer.
Steve Mcllvenny, Head of New Business (Health, Social Care and Support), said: “The nature of care is changing. People are rightly looking for support solutions that do what they want them to do – not simply accepting what is offered – be it help to stay in their own homes for longer, more choice about how their independence is maintained, or having more control over the care they receive and how it is provided.
“I’m excited to be playing a part in developing new services that not only meet the needs of customers but also ensure the Group is at the forefront of providing unique and tailored care and support, that goes beyond the rhetoric of choice, to deliver high-quality solutions that really do make a difference to people’s lives.”
David Williams, Executive Director of Health, Social Care and Support at the Accord Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Steve to the Group. Health and social care is a very important part of our business and one that we are actively aiming to develop with Steve’s help.”
