Key appointment for Autism care specialist

Eileen Smale is welcomed into the role of activities co-ordinator at the residential home to design and implement programmes that help the residents with social interaction, social communication and social imagination.

The appointment is key to enhancing the ongoing care received at Golcrest House to ensure its person centred approach goes above and beyond to recognise that each individual has different needs and requirements.

Eileen says: “Getting to know the resident’s individually and learning about their interests, hopes and dreams is something I am really looking forward to. Fulfilling activities can make such a difference to how someone with autistic spectrum disorder integrates in to what we call normal society.
