World Cup 2014=careindustrynewsOlder people in Solihull will be getting into the spirit of the World Cup ahead of the final this weekend by hosting a football-themed party for their family and friends.

The party will be held at Phoenix House extra care scheme, which is managed and owned by Solihull Care Housing Association (SCHA) with care provided by the Accord Group, in Shirley on Saturday.

Football fans are being encouraged to dress in World Cup-inspired outfits before tucking into food from around the world with their family and friends.

Karen Shepherd, Service Co-ordinator for the Accord Group at Phoenix House, said: “England may not be in the tournament anymore but that’s no reason not to get into the spirit of the World Cup and have some fun.

“We’ll be bringing a taste of Brazil to Phoenix House by making some special Latin-inspired dishes and with family and friends invited too there will be a real party atmosphere.”

Phoenix House is an extra care scheme made up of 49 apartments for older adults who are able to live on their own, but who may have personal care and support needs.

It also features a restaurant, shop, lounge, laundry and hairdressing salon
