Karleen Taylor-Williams, who has been Manager at Philips Court for one year, will take the plunge during the fayre, which is free and open to members of the community, with the aim of raising £500 for the home’s comfort fund.
The money raised will be put towards a ‘cows and kayaks art exhibition’ that the home is planning to hold and will buy a giant cow statue, which the residents will paint and decorate to stimulate their senses, that will live in the home’s spacious garden with other decorated statues of cows and kayaks.
There will be entertainment, hook-a-duck, a tombola, stalls selling bric-a-brac and refreshments and guests are welcome to play with the home’s hens, guinea pigs and rabbits.
The Gateshead care home is located on Bluebell Close. Philips Court provides nursing and residential care for up to 75 people. Care is primarily provided for older people with dementia.
