Urgent 24 appoint new Chief Executive


Kate Lucy Urgent Care-Care Industry NewsMerseyside healthcare provider Urgent Care 24 is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Lucy as its new Chief Executive.

Urgent Care 24 is a Social Enterprise providing GP Out of Hours and Primary Care services to the residents of Halton, Knowsley and Liverpool. The organisation has made significant progress under the leadership of Denise Boyd, who sadly passed away last month, and with Kate’s appointment this is expected to continue.

Sylvia Hikins, Vice Chair of Urgent Care 24, said: “We are very pleased with the appointment of Kate Lucy as our new Chief Executive and look forward to her taking up her new role on August 1.

“The progress made under Denise’s leadership was excellent. On behalf of the board I would like to thank everyone within the organisation for their continuing hard work in delivering high quality patient care and for the support provided to each other during Denise’s illness and subsequent death. The team’s continuing professionalism has been extremely humbling and is a credit to Urgent Care 24. We look forward to welcoming Kate to her new role.”

Kate, who has been Chair of Urgent Care 24 since September 2012 and was a Non-Executive Director of Urgent Care 24 before that, has more than 25 years experience working in health-related services at a senior level.
