On Sunday 22nd June, staff from Stocks Hall Care Home Burscough teamed up with colleagues from the Group’s Homecare & Agency to complete Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life. It was held at Liverpool’s stunning home of the Grand National, Aintree Racecourse. Race participants from the Stocks Hall Group joined together and raised an impressive £800 to help in the fight against cancer.
Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. They hold a series of 5k and 10k events which help raise money to beat all 200 types of cancer.
Sam Potter, Operations Manager said “We are very health conscious at Stocks Hall, so we thought what better way to support a charity close to all of our hearts than to enjoy a walk or a run – it really has been an amazing day”.
People living within Stocks Hall Burscough, staff, family and friends have had pleasure spending time together, enjoying the atmosphere and baking pink cupcakes to raise as much money as possible for cancer research.
Sam continues, “we thank and congratulate everyone at Stocks Hall who has taken part in any way, it’s a great achievement and testimony to how kind and caring our staff are.”
