Specialist property adviser Christie + Co has sold Fronheulog Care Home in Llandrindod Wells on behalf of Roger and Lucy Millar. The Millars are ready to pass the torch after 20 years of ownership.

The freehold interest was sold for an undisclosed sum to Crossroads Care, a charity based in mid-Wales which provides support, services and recognition for carers throughout mid-and-West Wales.

Fronheulog offers residential accommodation for 25 elderly clients in the heart of Llandrindod Wells and is the first registered setting for one of the Crossroads charity.

Rob Kinsman, Regional Director of Christie + Co, handled the sale. He says: “We are delighted to secure a successful disposal on behalf of Mr and Mrs Millar and wish Crossroads Care all the best at Fronheulog. The business has been lovingly operated by the Millars for a very long time and we have no doubt that Crossroads will continue to provide the highest level of care for the residents.”

Roger Gant, Chief Executive at Crossroads Mid and West Wales comments: “Our Board of Trustees has always been very innovative and this move into residential care is aimed at achieving a higher degree of sustainability for our support to carers, at a time when stringent cost-cutting by many public sector commissioners across Wales is having a major impact on the ability of charities to maintain their services.”
