A free opportunity to tell the UK about the care you deliver-A ‘Selfie’ but not as you know it!


#carehomesOn Friday it’s National Care Home Open Day, a significant opportunity for all care providers to invite the public into their care homes and see the constant good care that is delivered.

To coincide with this event and to ensure that all care homes get as much good exposure as possible Care Industry News invites all care providers to send in care home images via email in the style shown that symbolise the great care that’s happening in their care home.

Email careindustrynews@mail.com with your caring images now; after all #NHOD isn’t just about Friday.

For instance all the staff in a ‘team’ picture or residents enjoying a chat with visitors or a combination of both.

In turn these images will be then be Tweeted via @CINBlog and other Twitter accounts.


We want to try and make the words #carehomes ‘trend’ on line so that it gives the general public a chance to see what’s happening and how engaged the care sector is with future residents and their loved ones.

These are the key search words people use to see what’s happening in care homes

These images will also feature as news items and each image will be added to Care Industry News with an update on who got involved, the name of the home and the town they’re in. They will then be re-tweeted up to 4 times over the course of the following week.

We can choose to ignore that social media is where people will make their decisions but it’s happening and it’s happening now.

If you wish to be involved please supply the following:

  • A jpeg image 300 x 250.
  • The image to contain on a card the following #NCHOD and #carehomes
  • Your Twitter name
  • The name of your care home.
  • The name of your town
  • Who is pictured.

Let’s show the UK thje great care you deliver and how social media really can work to share the good news that happens in care, day in day out!
