“Creative Day Care Services” Launches for Adults with Special Needs at BGCA, Bilton Grange Community Association in East Hull: www.hulldaycareservices.co.uk

Creative Day Care Services formally opened their doors to serve adults with special needs through an enhanced programme and proven projects, including the Route 66 Music Project.

Special needs clients are encouraged in ways they never have been before and become a part of a real world community, rather than segregated from society by traditional provision.

For two decades BGCA on Grange Road, Hull east has operated daily programs for special needs and able-bodied clients at low cost, supported by national funding from the Big Lottery, Heritage Lottery, NIACE and other nationally-regarded bodies that recognise the valuable work of the facility. The changing landscape and complexities of accessing funding required a rethink of the services offered with a resultant programme paid by clients who attend, now payable through their allocated social service ‘personal budget.’

With the Social Service provision becoming increasingly limited,

Creative Day Care Services is a fresh regional response to cater to special needs and disabled clients. Innovative projects that better and more fully-engage these client adults after years of institutional care require leaders and staff that can both connect and lead those clients upwards, to elicit unknown before qualities of character and spirit.

The social services provision has begun reducing its available locations and anticipates more local residents under its care to move to one or more private specialised day care facilities, paid for through their Individual Budget. This personal budget allocation is available to those with a social worker following an assessment, and is paid directly from social services or managed by the client. Some clients may attend different facilities on different days, but may book in for two days with us, while other clients we anticipate remaining with us five days a week.

For those with special needs, disabilities and the elderly, their parents, families and carers we encourage them to visit us or arrange their days by calling 01482 781863 or gather more information at our website: www.hulldaycareservices.co.uk
