Glasgow based Lambhill Court Ltd hosted a special event for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations on Tuesday, 5th June at their care home;
40 Lambhill Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow.
Formed in 1987, with five care homes for the elderly based in and around Glasgow and employing a 350-strong workforce, Lambhill Court Ltd has experience of more than 20 years in the care of elderly people and is an equal opportunities employer.
MSP Nicola Sturgeon attended the event and said: “This was a fantastic occasion and I was delighted to come join Lambhill Court’s celebrations. I visited the home three years ago and was at last year’s Royal Wedding celebrations.”
Following a short speech from Nicola she spoke with Margaret Colville who was at the Queen’s Coronation at Buckingham Palace in 1953 and is a resident at the home.
A buffet style lunch was served at 2:00pm followed by a cake cutting ceremony to mark the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and presentation of special Jubilees to the residents. This event was even more spectacular than last year’s Royal Wedding event with well-loved singer Christian performing well into the afternoon.
Margaret Dillon, resident at Lambhill Court Ltd said: “It was a marvellous day and The Queen is great.”
Peggy Lilley, resident at Lambhill Court said: “I think the Queen is beautiful and very good for Britain. I have enjoyed Lambhill Court’s Jubilee celebrations immensely.”
