Key Staff is registered with Worcestershire County Council to provide Care Workers to elderly and vulnerable adults across the Two Counties.
The new service will provide home based support for a wide range of people including those with physical and/or learning difficulties and people with mental health problems. Services range from light housework, shopping and pension collection to helping people to get up, washed and dressed, assisting with meal preparation and helping with medication. The focus is on support for the individuals to encourage and enable them so that they may complete practical and personal care tasks in their own homes.
The company is already one of the largest Nursing Staff providers across the Three Counties; along with providing Domiciliary Care across Gloucestershire. Over the last ten years, Key Staff has established a reputation for delivering highly efficient specialist nursing including paraplegic, tracheotomy and palliative care. Registered Manager Stephen Huckerby is excited at getting the service up and running, believing that they can make a real difference to community care in the area:
We are really looking forward to providing reliable, first class care to people in the community. Our highly trained staff will be delivering a number of specialist services both privately and in partnership with the local Authority and Primary Care Trusts.
Our Care Workers are handpicked for their personality, skills, abilities and values. They then receive an excellent training package through our independent training centre; one of the key aspects which I believe sets us apart from other care providers.’
This investment in staff was underlined during a recent inspection carried out by the Care Quality Commission, who noted ‘People told us that they appreciated the fact that the agency works hard to ensure that the same staff visit each person.’
The Commission also approached Key Staff’s current clients for feedback and were told that staff are “very willing, they’re never late, they’re very good and very efficient.”’
20 people have already been employed across Gloucestershire since the beginning of the year and Key Staff is looking to increase that number dramatically across Worcestershire and Herefordshire in the coming months.
Mr. Huckerby added:
‘Our aim has always been to develop into the leading provider of care across the Three Counties, and having spent ten years building a reputation for providing the highest standards in staff provision and delivery of care, we feel the ingredients are now in place to fulfil this aim.’
