Sunrise Senior Living of Virginia Water marked its 10th Anniversary last weekend, celebrating ten years of providing high quality care and support to the local community. Local resident and Guest of Honour, Sir Bruce Forsyth, made sure the festivities were packed with smiles and laughter for all attendees.
Residents, staff, friends and family tucked into a homemade buffet, before toasting the occasion with a glass of champagne. The Sunrise catering team then unveiled a four-tiered birthday cake, crafted in the community’s colours and decorated with intricate roses, petals and lilies made of icing.
Sir Bruce Forsyth, a local Virginia Water resident, dropped by for a cup of tea and entertained the audience with jokes, stories, singing and even some tap dancing. Before leaving Sir Bruce was presented with a specially commissioned “Heart and Soul Award,” by Sunrise. The awards are usually presented as part of the care company’s employee recognition programme for staff that go above and beyond the call of duty. Sir Bruce has always done that for the Sunrise of Virginia Water community.
General Manager of Sunrise of Virginia Water, Malcolm Hague, added:
“Sunrise of Virginia Water is very proud to have been at the heart and soul of this local community for a decade.
“Residents, staff and families have had a brilliant time celebrating our anniversary and we thank Sir Bruce for making the occasion extra special.
“Here is to the next decade of warmth, fun and laughter at Sunrise!”
