Jane Tombleson, the General Manager at Juniper House, was delighted to accept the keys to the latest 60-bed property in Candleford Close from Dean Richards, Project Director at Castleoak, the specialist care development Group.
Jane said: “Castleoak has done a sterling job and the finish is second to none. Our expert interior design team has also added flair and luxury furnishings to the interior, completing the entire refurbishment in just two weeks!
“Our intention is to create a home that reflects bespoke, high quality for our residents, where we can provide person-centred care to meet their individual needs. I look forward to welcoming our first residents in March”
Juniper House is also on target to be the UK’s first care home to achieve the pioneering PassivHaus environmental standard. It will require around only 40 per cent of the annual energy costs and produce around only 40 per cent of the CO2 emissions of a typical 60-bed, timber frame care home built to comply with current building regulations.
“Juniper House has been developed with the needs of local older people in mind, from its location at the heart of the community to its design which supports the high quality care in a homely environment which Barchester is so well-known for providing,” said Dean Richards.
Barchester employs almost 15,000 people to care for more than 10,000 residents at more than 220 locations in the UK and is the only care provider listed in The Sunday Times Top 25 Big Companies To Work For 2011. The company has also won three Government employment awards at the National Workforce Development Awards 2010; Macro Apprentice Employer of the Year Award , Integrating Employment and Skills and Supporting Young Talent.
Juniper House care home will meet the demand for high quality nursing and residential services, including dedicated dementia care in the local community.
