Glebe House, a delightful and successful care home in Surrey, has been sold by care sector specialist advisors Christie + Co.
The entire share capital of Glebe Care Ltd (owners of Glebe House) was acquired by Surrey care provider Golden Years Ltd for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £3.8 million.
Glebe House is situated in the Surrey village of Chaldon, near to Caterham, and enjoys a peaceful setting with views over surrounding countryside — the main building of the property itself dates back to the 18th century. In former times, Glebe House was the home of the Rectors of Chaldon and is situated near the famous church. Registered for 43, the care home was owned by Glebe Care Limited for 27 years and enjoys regular high occupancy, and a good reputation with both the local community and with the Care Quality Commission, with which the care home holds a 2-star rating.
For the new owners, Golden Years Limited, Glebe House represents the second care home acquisition in the county.
Joel Gazeres of Christie + Co, who negotiated the sale, says: “We are delighted to have sold Glebe Care Ltd to Golden Years Ltd. This high quality and successful care home, in an extremely pleasant environment, will add to Golden Years’ growing portfolio in Surrey.
“This transaction and others conducted by Christie + Co highlights the confidence that is retained in the UK care sector.”
