The English Community Care Association (ECCA), the leading representative charity for independent care providers, has responded to
the Health Select Committee’s report on its review of the Care Quality Commission.

Martin Green, Chief Executive of ECCA, says:

“The findings of the report echo ECCA’s comments over the last year.  We very much hope that this will now be seen as a watershed and that CQC will take a new approach to delivering regulation.”

Martin Green continued:

“We now hope to move on in a positive partnership to ensure people receiving care services and providers have confidence in CQC as a quality regulator.”
